To avoid physical discomfort and dangerous biochemical interactions, adhere strictly to these dietary rules starting 10 to 14 days before your retreat:
Eliminate Tyramine & Fermented Foods: Avoid aged cheeses, cured meats, soy sauce, fermented foods, yeast extracts, and overripe fruits. Tyramine interacts negatively with the MAO-inhibiting properties of Ayahuasca.
Remove Recreations & Substances: Absolutely no alcohol, cannabis, recreational drugs, or nicotine.
Avoid Heavy & Processed Foods: Cut out pork, red meat, deep-fried foods, heavy oils, excess salt, refined sugars, and artificial sweeteners.
Limit Caffeine & Stimulants: Gradually taper off coffee, energy drinks, and excessive black/green tea to avoid withdrawal headaches during ceremony.
Embrace Clean Whole Foods: Focus on fresh vegetables, whole grains (rice, oats, quinoa), legumes, fresh non-citrus fruits, and light plant proteins cooked simply without heavy spices.
